SSB 2024 is a fresh and vibrant 50% Semillon and 50% Sauvignon Blanc blend displaying honeydew melon, tropical fruits and grassy aromas. The fleshy mid palate displays intense lime zest with a hint of passionfruit, zippy acidity and a lingering crisp finish.
Winemaker's Notes
Woody Nook Wines SSB 2024 was made from two parcels of 'Joliffe' vineyard estate fruit, Pellenc Selective machine harvested in the early hours of the morning, then transported to the winery cold room for a brief period of skin contact at 2°C before crushing and pressing the premium free run juice to stainless steel tanks for cold settling. 4.98 tonnes of Semillon grapes and 4.56 tonnes of Sauvignon Blanc grapes were picked together on the 12th February, 2024 at 12.85° baumé, much earlier than average because of the warmer growing season. The Semillon and the Sauvignon Blanc were co-fermented with Alchemy II yeast over 18 days, followed by fining, filtration and bottling in June 2024. 505 cases were produced.
