Woody Nook Wines and The Nookery Café is proud to be a part of the Cowaramup Harvest & Vines Trail, a self-drive memorable experience that winds its way through the “golden triangle” of Margaret River’s internationally famous Cabernet Sauvignon country, Wilyabrup.
From humble beginnings the area between Cowaramup and Gracetown has grown to become one of the world’s most renowned winemaking sub-regions. Woody Nook has been part of this evolution since 1982. Remaining a small, family-owned, artisanal producer, with its flagship red wine; Gallagher’s Choice Cabernet Sauvignon, crafted from 40 year old, dry grown vines, a multiple international and domestic trophy winner.
Once a land of timber milling and dairy farms there are now, vineyards and wineries, breweries, distilleries and gourmet food producers. The landscape is one of rolling fields, hay bales and lush vineyards bordered by virgin native bushland. Woody Nook itself is nestled amongst native forest. The timber and mudbrick construction of the cellar door, Nookery Café and onsite short-stay accommodation, harking back to earlier times.
Those who choose to visit will witness first-hand the seasons, the makers, the natural beauty and sample the fruits of the local’s labour. All roads lead you to this pilgrimage! At Woody Nook Wines, you even get to adopt your own grapevine!
“Old secrets of winemaking, brewing and distilling are whispered here. Of course, days end at the coast, and in this case, it’s Gracetown’s Cowaramup Bay, where the sun sets into the water.”
