Chardonnay (Oaked) 2021

This single vineyard, Estate-grown Chardonnay displays baked apple and ripe melon aromas enhanced by subtle toasty oak characteristics. The generous mid palate combines stone fruit, cashew and a hint of creaminess. A backbone of crunchy green apple acidity gives the wine freshness and a lingering finish. Drinking at its peak now until 2028 but the brave and patient will be rewarded. 

Winemaker's Notes

Woody Nook Wines Chardonnay 2021 was made from 2.35 tonnes of low-yielding, estate grown fruit, hand-picked on the 18th and 19th February, 2021 by the Woody Nook crew at  at 11.8° baumé.  Destemmed and pressed to tank for cold settling overnight before transferring to six new Marsannay Quartz barriques for fermentation.   Monthly batonage and eight months oak maturation before fining, cold stabilization, filtration and finally bottling in December 2021.   125 cases were produced.
