An elegant medium-bodied wine. Aromas of blueberry, violet, and cedary oak lead to a supple palate combining blueberry and blackcurrant flavours with fine tannins and well-integrated oak.
Sourced from our 30+ year old dry grown vines most of our Merlot is blended into the Single Vineyard Cabernet Merlot, however by popular demand, we have begun keeping a little aside each year to release as our Limited Release Merlot. The Merlot grapes used in this wine were picked on the estate on March 1, 2018, at a Bau me of 12.6°. They were plunged in open fermenters for several days, followed by several more in stainless steel tanks for malolactic fermentation. French oak barriques were used for their maturation over a nineteen month period. 112 cases were bottled in December 2019.
